I asked my friend and colleague, Fashion Stylist Tania Sterl to
write something about Spring Training for your wardrobe. Here’s what she had to say. Enjoy!
First and most importantly-get clear on your goals and desires and so you can dress with intention.
Think about dressing for the next level.
- Who do you want to meet/impress/do business with?
- What opportunities are you seeking to attract?
- What important events must you dress for?
- What is your next income goal?
Dressing with intention draws others towards you - magnetizes them.
Often
I tell my clients, not only should that coat, suit, shirt or dress be
something you "love" - instinctively without doubt. It should actually
scare you a little bit - cause you to wonder - "Am I worthy of this
amazing power purse (or briefcase)?" Yes you are!
That's dressing for the next level.
When
you take risks you grow. And taking small risks with your clothing can
help you grow as well. And it just might be what will help take you to
the next level.
Dress for your role AND your goal by adding some newness - it will
spark a new energy and others will sense it. That’s magnetism.
Think of yourself as the character in your own movie and yes, you are the leading
role – the star!
My recommendations for keeping your look-and OUTLOOK fresh for spring
is to start with your 3 "Power Pieces" your Coat, Bag and Shoe-be
sure they all work together.
Need to freshen up?
Add a topper or power purse in your signature color
palette-think deep colors that are deep and Rich like black -azure blue or
emerald green.
Perhaps you invested wisely last spring and your coat and purse are
still "you" now.
Add a beautiful print scarf around your neck or a pair of designer pumps, flats, or booties in a new color or shape like snakeskin or metallic.
Be the inspiration-be that potent flower that blooms and entices
others to behold - that's the power of dressing
with intention.
And always remember:
That was then, this is now, and where are you going next?
